Here’s a recap of the Bark-A-Bout Team’s fall and winter, 2020 fundraising efforts!

All of these fundraising proceeds went to the pet rescue who raised the most money during our Plunge For Paws, 2020 fundraiser.

$6,500 GRAND PRIZE WINNER: NBS ANIMAL RESCUE!

The Bark-A-Bout staff was so excited to give all of our #PlungeForPaws2020 donations we had collected throughout the season to the pet rescue that has the highest Plunge For Paws Team Score!
Raising $6,255, NBS Animal Rescue won 1st place!

Most impressively, NBS Animal Rescue decided to share $1,000 of their winnings with the 2nd pet rescue runner-up, Making Miracles Animal Rescue, who raised $1,680, and an additional $500 of their winnings to 3rd runner-up, Teacher’s Pet: Dogs and Kids Learning Together! Congratulations, NBS Animal Rescue!!

The Bark-A-Bout Team generously donated a 43” Flatscreen TV to the person who takes the Virtual Plunge, submits their video by the deadline, and has the highest Personal Score!

With your help and generosity, Bark-A-Bout and pet rescues raised $15,300 for pets in need, and 38 BRRrrave plungers took the teeth-chattering virtual plunge!

NBS Animal Rescue Won the Bark-A-Bout Team’s $6,500 Grand Prize Donation!
The Bark-A-Bout Team has worked very hard this season and fundraised $6,500 for a Grand Prize to be awarded to the #PlungeForPaws2020 pet rescue who fundraised the most money and gathered the most Plunge Points.

NBS Animal Rescue Won The Bark-A-Bout Team’s $6,500 Grand Prize
During the Plunge For Paws, 2020 Fundraiser, NBS Animal Rescue impressively fundraised $6,255 for their pet rescue, and found 21 brrrrrave “plungers” to submit
videos of themselves “freezin’ for a reason” by dumping a bucket of ice-water over their head! Each goose-bump and dollar raised helped NBS Animal Rescue land in 1st Place and secured their victory of the Bark-A-Bout Team’s $6,500 Grand Prize!

Making Miracles Animal Rescue Came In Second Place

Making Miracles Animal Rescue fundraised $1,680 and secured 14 Virtual Plungers to raise money for their rescue! Way to go, Team!

NBS Has Chosen To Donate $1,500 Of Their Winnings
To 2nd and 3rd Place Runner-Ups!

In an extraordinary display of comradery, Grand Prize Winner, NBS Animal Rescue has chosen to donate $1,000 to 2nd Runner-Up, Making Miracles Animal Rescue and donate $500 to 3rd Place Winner, Teacher’s Pet: Dogs and Kids Learning Together. This truly showcases NBS Animal Rescue’s eagerness and commitment to partner with fellow animal welfare groups within our community to bring aid to all pets in need within our community! “Pie The Boss” Challenge

Bark-A-Bout’s Owner, Michelle N. bravely took on the “Pie The Boss” challenge!
Michelle was willing to take a pie to her face for every $50 that the Bark-A-Bout Team raised for one week! This was so much fun as our staff launched 28 pies and raised $1,400 for pets in need! P.S- No animals or bosses were harmed in the making and Michelle smiled and laughed through every second of it! What a great sport!

Bark-A-Bout’s Managers, Tina & Michelle Ran In The Freezing Cold Lake!
Managers, Tina and Michelle B. weren’t going to let Bark-A-Bout’s owner, Michelle have all the crazy fun! Tina and Michelle vowed that they
would take a plunge into Stoney Creek if they could each fundraise $500 in less than one week to help pets in need! They each succeeded!
Aaron F. of NBS Animal Rescue and Rob R. of Bark-A-Bout also joined in the craziness and met his own money challenges. A total of $1,500 was
raised by running into the lake!

Bark-A-Bout’s Gourmet Carmel Apple Fundraiser

Members of the Bark-A-Bout Team got together for a night of gourmet carmel apple creation. Over 60 apples were preordered and we SOLD OUT before all our
apples could hit our shelves! This fundraiser was so fun! Over $400 was raised towards our Grand Prize Donation.

You **CAN** Make a Difference For A Pet In Need!

For the past couple months Bark-ABout’s lobby has been brimming with mountains of cans and bottles from loving pet owners. Our staff would load up their vehicles only to return back to Bark-A-Bout to find another
mountain of bags piled in the lobby! How exciting!!! We aPAWreciate every pop can (and yes, beer bottle) that has helped to change the life of a pet in need this winter. This has been our biggest channel of receiving donations …10 cents at a time!

Bark-A-Bout’s Cyber Monday T-shirt Fundraiser

Bark-A-Bout’s supporters showed up in flying colors by paw’chasing 66 t-shirts and hoodies during our “Cyber Monday” and “Giving Tuesday” t-shirt Promotion! Over $400 was raised for pets in need. You can still snag a t-shirt here!

Coins For Critters

Every coin and dollar dropped into Bark-A-Bout’s “Coins For Critters” bucket amounted to over $300! Most impressively, we even witnessed the loving act of generosity from a pair of youngsters who emptied their piggy
bank from their weekly allowance into our bucket. These kids sure are getting onto Santa’s “Nice List” this Christmas!

Thank you to all the crafty and generous Bark-A-Bout supporters who generously donated over 50+ items to be auctioned off during our 2-day Thanks4Giving Facebook Auction. Donations ranged from gift baskets to homemade quilts, gift cards, t-shirts and even lawn ornaments! The array of creativity and generosity was overwhelming. Thank you!

C.H.A.I.N.E.D. Inc.’s mission is to get each outdoor chained dog off the chain, one dog at a time.

We enhance the lives of 24/7 chained/outside dogs by providing life enhancing supplies & services including: insulated dog houses, straw, safe fenced yards/kennels, spay/neuter assistance, vaccines, heartworm prevention, treats, toys, love and most importantly… owner education and resources. Correcting the problem where it originates decreases the number of homeless and neglected animals.

Every dog is worth saving and this is our way of saving them!Since 2011, C.H.A.I.N.E.D. Inc. volunteers have assisted:
2,897 dogs/puppies (some cats/kittens too)
880 igloos/barns given to outside dogs
648 spay/neuter
347 surrendered/rescued
84 adoptions
68 freedom kennels built

Life-saving #PlungeForPaws donations will allow C.H.A.I.N.E.D. Inc. to purchase over 800 bales of straw for outdoor dog house insulation. Donations will also provide outdoor chained dogs with warm shelter and food for the winter. We plan to purchase insulated outdoor igloo dog houses, warm heating pads, heated water bowls so water doesn’t freeze over, dry kibble food, comfortable collars and lightweight leashes. Most importantly, we will provide pet owners with educational materials on how to keep their dogs safe and healthy during Michigan’s brutal and deadly cold winter weather. We encourage all pet owners to bring their dogs indoors during the coldest nights so we provide indoor crates.

NBS Animal Rescue’s mission is to Foster, Love, and Adopt homeless dogs, one-by-one, until there are none.

Specifically, we focus on pulling small breed dogs from Michigan shelters. We take the seniors and medical needs dogs that are least likely to be adopted, and are at a high risk of euthanasia. All necessary medical care is provided for them until we find them a loving home.

Since 2011, even as a smaller foster-based rescue we have proudly adopted out over 600 dogs. We are a 5-star rescue certified by the Michigan Pet Fund Alliance, by always going above and beyond the best standardized rescue practices. Since 2011, we have been successful in securing grants that help fund our senior medical needs program, emergency medical outreach program, and post-adoption training programs. We proudly operate a pet food pantry that often supplies other rescues and outreach groups with dog food when the need arises. To date, we have supplied over 40,000 lbs. of dog food to animals in need.

Life-saving #PlungeForPaws donations will replenish one of our 3 main programs: Senior Medical Fund, Emergency Outreach Fund, or Post-Adoption Training fund. All of these programs are geared to help the neediest dogs receive the care they desperately deserve and keep them in loving homes.

A ReJoyceful Animal Rescue’s mission is to help all the homeless, neglected, abused animals and find them forever homes and educate the public on how important spaying and neutering is.

A ReJoyceful Animal Rescue is a no-kill, foster-based cat and dog rescue. We are a non-profit charity located in the Metro-Detroit area. All of the animals that come into in our care have been rescued from one place or another. We pull from high-kill animal shelters, we take in the sick, unwanted, aggressive, abandoned, abused and neglected animals. We place them in a foster home with someone who will understand them, rehabilitate them and show them what it is like to be loved again. We feel that all animals deserve better and we strive to give them a life full of love and happiness.

Each animal that comes into our organization is a part of someone’s family until they find their forever homes. Fostering is probably one of the most rewarding experiences ever! To see an animal come to you that is helpless, lonely, lost, abused and neglected go from underdog to wonderdog is the greatest feeling in the whole world. While in a loving foster home, it is easier to determine a pet’s as they receive the one-on-one attention that they deserve.

A ReJoyceful Animal Rescue also runs a community outreach project, helping 24/7 chained dogs, stray/feral cats and more. We provide medical care (including TNR), food, treats, toys, bones, proper tie outs, collars, shelter, straw and more!

Our volunteers are essential to aid in fundraising, follow-ups, fostering, event planning, administrative work or just say a prayer for the babies we are trying to save. If you want to volunteer we can always use your help. It does not matter if you can devote as little as 4 hours a week or 40 hours a week. Join Teacher’s Pet Team and start fundraising today!

Teacher’s Pet intervention program pairs troubled youth with hard-to-adopt shelter dogs for bi-weekly workshops that aim to teach valuable character traits that will empower youth to lead highly influential and successful lives, and dogs an increased chance at getting adopted into fur’ever homes…

During these bi-weekly workshops, youth will:

Participate in positive, reward-based dog training
Help modify dogs’ behavior
Increase dogs’ chances of becoming adopted
Ensure dogs can remain in their homes permanently
Improve their impulse control and patience
Meet twice a week (for two hours each time) at various schools and juvenile facilities throughout Macomb, Oakland and Wayne counties

By providing youth and dogs a safe, therapeutic environment time after time, Teacher’s Pet helps them learn, grow and create fruitful futures, together.
